Demonstrating our Skills at the Great Knaresborough Bed Race

As one of the sponsors of this year’s event, we’ve put forward a team of seven employees from various departments, including research, components, marketing and development, to take part in the race. This will involve the team competing in a timed 2.4 mile run finishing with a swim across the River Nidd, all while pushing a specially-adapted bed on wheels built by us.

Each year the Knaresborough Bed Race features 90 teams of six runners and a passenger, equating to 630 people taking on the course. Part fancy dress pageant, part time trial, the race, which takes place on Saturday 10th June, has been held since 1966. The Harrison Spinks team will be parading through the market town in the pre-race parade dressed as characters from the children’s book, Peter Pan, in line with this year’s theme – Heroes and Villains.

“Our development team has been working hard and has used its expertise in developing some of the world’s most innovative spring technology and machines to build us a race bed that we think is a winner.
